What Happens After You Pass a Prop Firm Challenge?
Passing is the start, not the finish. Learn about activation fees, funded-account rules, payout requirements and how to protect your first payout.

Activation
Many firms charge a one-time activation fee before issuing a funded account. Check the amount and whether it applies per account before you count on the payout.
The rules can change
Funded accounts often have different drawdown behaviour, consistency rules and payout conditions than the evaluation. Read the funded-account rules rather than assuming they match.
Reaching the first payout
Typical conditions include minimum trading days, a profit buffer and a minimum payout amount. Know them before you start so you do not trade into a breach with a payout almost earned.
Protect the account
A funded account that is breached after you pass has cost you the evaluation and the activation fee. Reduce size, protect the buffer and track every account from one place.
Frequently asked questions
Is passing the same as getting paid?
No. You still have to meet the funded-account payout conditions.
